First and foremost I am a wife, mother and proud grandmother!  However I love to sew and am lucky that I have the time and space to do so and that others like what I create.

I moved to Devon in 1986, teaching first in Braunton and later in Ilfracombe.

I took early retirement in 2014 after 35 years in teaching, deciding to make more time for family and to explore my artistic interests.  It was a decision I have not regretted.

I first began sewing as a teenager, using my mother’s sewing machine, making clothes for myself and later for my children.    I was self-taught, but since retiring have benefitted from more formal instruction as well as friendship and encouragement at a quilting class.  I have now produced a number of quilted projects of increasing complexity and intricacy.  These include, among other things, King size bed quilts, cushions, play mats, bags and wall art.

In May 2019 I exhibited work as part of Ilfracombe Art Trail and was encouraged by the interest and positive comments of people who saw what I had produced. This response gave me the confidence to join "FortyThree", a co-operative shop in Fore Street, Ilfracombe and offer some of my work for sale.

I live, with my husband Paul, on one of Ilfracombe’s lovely Georgian terraces; hence my brand name.  "Terrace"
